The History - Steedle
Moving & Storage, Inc. has been family owned and operated since the
beginning in 1918 when George D. Steedle founded Steedle’s Express.
George D. & his wife Dorcus C. owned and
operated the company with offices in Riverton,
NJ, Philadelphia,
PA and New York City, NY
until George D. died in 1972. Monroe O. Steedle and his wife Joan L.
owned and operated the company out of Riverton, New Jersey
from 1972 to 1979. Scott A. Steedle and his wife Denise T. have owned and
operated the company in Palmyra, Camden and West Deptford, New Jersey since 1979.
Our Mission - Steedle Moving & Storage,
Inc. provides affordable quality moving and storage services everyday to all
of our customers. The difference between one mover and the next is the
quality of the employees. We spend days, weeks and sometimes months
hiring and training our employees. We understand the key to a quality
move is quality employees. We put considerable time and tremendous effort
into training our employees to be quality movers.
TYPES OF MOVING
Local Moving is all moving within the
state of New Jersey.
The charges are based on the number of men used plus a travel charge
based on the number of miles of travel from your current home to your new
home. Standard services that are included in a local move are free
estimates, pad wrapping of all furniture, disassembly and reassembly of
all standard furniture, beds, mirrors, and tables. Steedle movers are trained to pack and move
the following items: pianos, antiques, and large screen televisions. We
are fully insured and licensed movers and we offer the option to purchase
additional insurance for your belongings.
Long Distance Moving is all moving out of or into New Jersey from
another state. The charges for long distance moving are based on the
weight of your goods and the miles of travel plus any additional services
needed such as packing, additional insurance, storage, flights of stairs,
elevators, and bulky articles. Steedle
employees generally handle all moving up to 500 miles. Steedle Moving & Storage, Inc. is an
agent for Interstate Van Lines, Inc. who will generally transport all
moving greater than 500 miles from or to our West
Deptford, NJ facility. We handle household moving, corporate
moving, national accounts, government and military moving.
Furniture Storage & Warehousing
- If storage
is necessary for your belongings on a long-term or short-term basis,
while waiting for your new home to become available, or just an overnight
hold we do have the facilities and experience to provide maximum
protection in a safe new warehouse. We use furniture pallets which are
large wooden containers that are 7’ high 7’ wide 5’ deep. These wooden
containers are designed especially to store household items. We have
government contracts with Ft.
Dix, NJ,
McGuire AFB, NJ, NAS Philadelphia, PA, Lakehurst NAS, and Coast Guard
Cape May, NJ. Approximately one and a half rooms of household goods will
fit in one storage pallet.
Crane Service - 11 Ton & 23 Ton - Steedle
Crane Service is a subsidiary of Steedle
Moving & Storage, Inc., also located in West
Deptford, NJ. Steedle’s
currently operates an 11 ton and 23 ton truck crane with New Jersey
certified and licensed operators. Our new 23 ton crane has a 100’ full
power hydraulic boom plus a 48’ two stage jib for total work height of
148’. This crane was designed to meet the needs of the construction, and
heating and air conditioning companies. We are capable of lifting
everything from sofa’s, piano’s, furniture, machine’s, statues, safes,
building supplies, and steel as well as accident recovery and emergency
services. Give us a call and let us put this new 23 ton truck crane to
work for you. Load charts, truck specifications and rental rates
available on request.
Hoisting & Rigging Services - Steedle
is one of the oldest hoisting and rigging companies in South
Jersey. We have been rigging and hoisting since 1918. When
the elevator and or the stairway cannot handle the moving of sofas, china
cabinets, pianos, statues, armoires, safes, machinery and or large
appliances give us a call and you will find our service safe and
affordable.
